Used for over 3,000 years in Ayurveda, where it is known as the conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness, it contains fulvic acid, dibenzo-alpha-pyrones, humic acid and a broad range of trace minerals.
Is Nature Elixirs shilajit resin pure, with nothing added?
Yes. The jar contains purified Himalayan shilajit resin only, with no honey, sugar, sweeteners, fillers, binders or flow agents. If you prefer it sweeter, you can stir in a little honey yourself when you prepare it.
Is your shilajit lab tested?
Yes. Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory before release. The current batch, SJ2509, was screened by AGROLAB LUFA GmbH, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, for heavy metals, mycotoxins, PAHs, pesticide residues and microbiology. How can I tell if shilajit is real?
Genuine shilajit resin is dense and tar-like at room temperature, softens when warmed, dissolves in warm water and has a strong, earthy, slightly bitter scent. Most importantly, the seller should publish a Certificate of Analysis for the batch on sale, with heavy metal results for lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury.
How much shilajit resin should I take a day?
Take 250 to 500 mg a day, about the size of a pea, dissolved in a warm drink. Start at 250 mg for the first two weeks, and do not exceed 500 mg a day without professional medical guidance.
Is shilajit safe, and who should avoid it?
Purified, tested shilajit used at recommended amounts is considered safe for healthy adults. Never use raw or unprocessed shilajit. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, anyone under 18 and anyone taking prescription medication, particularly blood thinners or diabetes medication, should consult a GP before use. It is not recommended for people with haemochromatosis without medical advice.
How long does a 30g jar of shilajit resin last?
A 30g jar gives about 60 servings at 500 mg a day, or about 120 servings at 250 mg a day. That is roughly two to four months for one person.
